1.
Friend, you have been wandering too long Take a blanket, listen to the song Stars will tell you stories in the sky Meaning will come to you by and by Did you have a friend that let you down? Move away and find another town Portions of our lives seem so unreal Parallel worlds mirror an ideal
2.
Unsettling 04:37
Unsettling, kick off the dust Cheri, wake up There's no one to trust All alone in a lonely town It holds no comfort when you're feeling down On the move We'll hit the road, no time to cuss Cheri, you know that they're after us They'll apprehend, parade us 'round Be made examples for the rest of town We're on the move

Apparition 03:01
Inside was black and it spins her around Blissfully unaware of the painful things This bliss Inside got bleak just inches above the ground Reaching a crescendo, the awful scream This bliss
6.
A Room 02:09
A woman needs a room And surely, I need a little Space between myself and others Here is a new crop of attendees Breathing through thin walls into realities Where do you stand and what would you do And all the other questions that we should go through I've talked myself into a shared situation I talked myself into a shared situation
7.
Didn't Help 02:10
8.
Prayer 03:11
Tired, I'm so tired Lord I feel uninspired Tell me are you with me Tell me it's not empty All along, oh Lord I've been bringing it for you All along, oh Lord Keeping fresh, keeping new Oh but tired, I'm so tired And I feel uninspired Are you with me, Lord? Like I'm with you, Lord? I am with you, Lord
9.
These Ties 03:33
These ties that bind Our life and our love grow entwined The losses, the victories Remind us how, luckily These ties they do bind This love is divine The joys they get sweeter with time The trials they do change us The years they do age us And these treasured ties they do bind Outside in the garden You planted all the seeds Grew them into flowers Bring them home to me I give you my devotion Give my love so deep And late into the evening I'll sing you off to sleep
10.
It changes so quickly that I Hardly notice The red turned into grey And the sky looked very different that day I wasn't thinking clearly, was I? I lost the ashes out over miles and miles Of indelicately scattered trials What would you have me do? You're lighting off as I'm falling down What would you have me do about you? You've glued the wings so tight here and I Can't get off the ground It changes so quickly that I Hardly ever notice until my feet are touching down
11.

Deep Lines 03:49
Wish I'd avoided all this trouble Should have been cautious, should have been stronger Should have trusted my instincts and common sense Wish I'd avoided bad decisions, negative entanglements, making wrong friends, letting myself be influenced by them Wish I knew then what I know now I would go back and change the outcome I'd go back and do it all again But it's too late, it's much too late The lines were drawn, mistakes were made And I'm to blame for almost all my pain I wish I could erase these deep lines on my face

about

Hold On, Loosely is the 3rd solo album from the singer, guitarist, trumpeter of beloved bands like Erase Errata, Hey Jellie, Hallways of Always, and Vacation Eyes. A departure from Jenny's psych rock and electronic/punk projects, HOL is full of dreamy western soundscapes and timeless acoustic gems. Half of the tunes were home-recorded in Austin, TX. Frequent collaborators William Elliot Whitmore (Anti Records/Bloodshot Records), Christina Files (Mary Timony Band, Swirlies, War Bubble), and John "Crawdaddy" Crawford make appearances on the 12 song collection but Hoyston plays the majority of instruments on the release.
